Man accused of DUI after a crash that hospitalized four

Driving Under the Influence & Fleeing
Bryan S. Gardner, 42, was accused and arrested for driving under the influence when he tried to speed away from the Collier County sheriff’s deputies, before crashing into a tree.
Gardner, who is from West Palm Beach, was driving a 2011 BMW with three other passengers when the Collier deputies tried to stop his vehicle. However, he tried to flee away, crashing his car into a tree and ending up in the hospital along with the three passengers. The incident happened around 12:15 a.m.
While he was recklessly driving his four-door vehicle on Eighth Street Northeast, one of the Collier deputies signaled the vehicle to stop but the driver choose to ignore and kept driving. Gardner crossed two lanes of Randall Boulevard onto the north shoulder. He then crashed his car in a pine tree injuring everyone on board.
Gardner suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. Jacob Gardner, 22, Marco Prieto, 32 and Brittany Maynor, 23, all from Naples, were also rushed to the hospital. Brittany suffered serious injuries and was escorted to Lee Memorial Hospital due to her serious condition, whereas the remaining two passengers were treated for minor injuries at Physicians Regional Hospital.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Gardner is facing multiple charges including DUI, DUI with property damage, driving while license revoked, reckless driving and three counts of DUI with injury.
