Florida Woman Allegedly Caught Drunk Driving With 8 Kids En Route To Night Club, reports say

Lawanda Lowery-Gale of Gainsville, Fla., has been charged with DUI, eight counts of child neglect and driving with a suspended license after officers allegedly caught her driving drunk with eight children in her van at the time of the arrest, The Gainsville Sun reports.
The incident occurred Friday night around 9:50 p.m. when Lowery-Gale reportedly side-swiped another vehicle. As the cops pulled her over, they noticed that there were eight children in the vehicle. Six of the children reportedly belong to Lowery-Gales’. The children ranged in age from 10 months to 14 years old, according to The Gainesville Sun report. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured during the traffic incident, though many damages were incurred.
According to The Gainesville Sun story, a police arrest report said the thirty two year old woman was driving to a bar at the time of the incident, In addition, the cops suspected she was driving under influence, since her breath reeked of alcohol, speech sounded slurred, and her eyes appeared blood-shot and watery.
According to reports, it was stated that Lowery-Gale told police she was trying to get to Fubar, a nightclub at 225 West, University Ave, when the accident occurred. The Sun has more details on the traffic stop:
She was handcuffed and imprisoned at Alachua County Jail where she was also given a breath test. Lowery-Gales reportedly performed poorly on sobriety exercises. The DUI arrest report states Lowery-Gale registered a blood alcohol level of .166 percent, which was twice the state of Florida’s legal limit of .08 percent.
Lowery Gales had to pay more than $1,000 in damages.
Past records indicate that Lowery-Gale’s license has been revoked five times before. In addition, she had also been cited for failure to submit to an alcohol test in January 2011.
