Aftermath Of Reckless DUI
ST. CLOUD, Fla. – According to the Florida Highway Patrol Troopers, 2 Central Florida teenagers died in an accident that happened on Thursday night at about 8 p.m.
The FHP crash report said that Randall Kerley, 47, was driving a pickup truck in Osceola County. When Kerley took a left turn at an intersection, his pickup truck came into the path of a 2003 Hyundai. 18-year-old Rachel Price and 19-year-old Jamaree Cook of Palm Bay were in the Hyundai. Price was driving the car. Price’s car hit the passenger side of Kerley’s pickup truck and caught fire as it hit a third car that was stopped at the intersection.
Both Price and Cook were killed in the blaze. Kerley and the driver of the third car were not injured in the accident.
Troopers said that after the accident, Kerley showed “obvious signs of impairment”.
Kim Montes, FHP spokeswoman, said that troopers took Kerley’s blood sample to test and they had Kerley blow into an alcohol monitor. The results showed his blood-alcohol content at .142. The legal blood alcohol content limit in Florida is .08.
Troopers made the arrest at the scene and charged Kerley with two counts of DUI manslaughter.
