Juvenile cases don’t deal with bond (bail bonds). Normally with criminal cases, you’re talking about what bond people have to post and how it operates. In juvenile cases, there’s no bond.
Interviewer: So, there are no bail bonds available for juvenile sentence?
The Court Determines Release
Amir Ladan: No. There’s a different analysis used. The court decides whether or not the child should be released. If they’re released, it’s normally back to a parent or legal guardian. As we mentioned earlier, the parent or guardian is then obligated to make sure they come back to court. But there’s no bond procedure in place, so I thought that might be something that was noteworthy to discuss.
Interviewer: Are people aware that there is no bond for a juvenile offense?
