Can You Renew Your License If It Has Been Revoked In Another State?

TALLAHASEE, Fla. – A panel of 3 judges has upheld the state’s revocation of an out-of-state resident’s driving rights in a DUI case.

Jeffrey John Silha said that the law didn’t apply to him because he is not a resident of the state and he didn’t have a Florida license when he got his 4th driving under the influence conviction in Georgia but the judges rejected his argument.

In 1999, Florida cancelled Jeffrey John Silha’s license but after 2 years, he got an Arkansas license. In 2010, Arkansas rejected and didn’t renew his license because Florida had suspended his driving rights.

The ruling Friday by the 1st District Court of Appeal is based on a law that permanently cancels a person’s driver license when a person gets convicted for DUI for the fourth time.[/vc_column_text][stm_post_bottom][stm_post_about_author][stm_post_comments][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″ offset=”vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”][stm_sidebar sidebar=”573″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
